The Killers were cool. Brandon's Jacket is really cool. This was a really laid back shoot that didn't take too long. Dustin Cohen was the photographer and we were shooting at a studio space on the lower east side. Dustin took some simple individual headshots and while he was doing that I got to sit around and talk with the rest of the band. It was a good day and now it's on the cover of the magazine. Hasheem

A few weeks ago I did a job with Peter Yang up in Connecticut. We were shooting a 7 foot 3in. basketball player at UCONN named Hasheem Thabeet. (you can read the whole article and see more pictures here) He was huge. It actually ended up being a good time because he was a really cool guy and the shoot was very laid back. It was interesting figuring out how to light someone who is at least a foot taller than every person in the crew. We knew everything had to be higher, but how much? It was much different than shooting short and stocky stock brokers. Anyway we ended up making it work pretty well as you can see on the cover.

While we were setting up Peter found this small cutout area in the wall that had previously housed a payphone. No one uses payphones anymore so they had taken it out and now it was just a weird looking gap in the wall. It was too small for me to stand in on a box so we knew it would be perfect for Hasheem. So we threw some lights up around it. After Peter shot the cover on white, Hasheem was really cool and squeezed into the weird hole in the wall with lights around it. Peter took pictures of him there too. You'll recognize the shot when you go look at the article.

After all this Hasheem went and did a 5k run, so Peter took pictures of that too. You should go look at the pictures and read the article on ESPN's website, here. There's also a video on there with some clips from the shoot. Watch that too.
